These dice are of a synthetic type, and as the Gnome Emporium’s catalog claims, they are crafted from "Synthetic Obsidian" and fragments of "Antan Mountain Gold." While they lack the vast magical reserves or precise spell-channelling abilities of true obsidian or gold dice, they have become popular among common folk for their ease of use—requiring no magical talent. Some teachers allow apprentices who haven't officially started learning magic to use these dice for an initial experience with magic.
