Blue dragons are mythical creatures with an extended growth cycle. They transition out of their juvenile stage at 83 years old and typically reach full maturity by 297 years, undergoing several transformative molts during this time. Very little is known about their juvenile form, as no detailed records exist. Scholars believe that, unlike other dragons that lay eggs externally, blue dragons incubate their eggs internally. Once partially developed, the eggs are exposed to electrical energy, which facilitates the final hatching process.
An adult blue dragon ranges from 125 meters to 213 meters in length, based on the smallest and largest known specimens. Researchers attribute this massive size discrepancy to differences in their growth environments. Blue dragons typically reside in areas with complex magnetic fields, which have a beneficial impact on their scales. These scales adapt to their surroundings, providing a form of visual camouflage.
An astonishing 97.53% of blue dragon sightings have been reported during thunderstorms. Studies reveal that blue dragons are closely connected to lightning, with the various spikes and protrusions on their bodies serving more than just a defensive purpose. These spikes allow blue dragons to absorb electrical energy, while their forked tails help direct and sometimes discharge this energy, even triggering lightning from the clouds. Due to their natural camouflage, blue dragons are often invisible except during thunderstorms, where they can be seen as flickering shadows while absorbing lightning.
When a blue dragon grows to a certain size, it spends several days gathering clouds over a vast area, sometimes covering hundreds of kilometers. A fully matured blue dragon possesses devastating capabilities. Combat data from successful captures or kills show that a single lightning strike from a blue dragon can instantly obliterate an unprotected secondary city. If fully harnessed, this energy could provide stable power for a city's entire population for at least eight weeks. This makes hunting or capturing a blue dragon a perilous undertaking, requiring meticulous preparation and highly trained personnel. In near-death situations, a blue dragon will summon all its remaining energy to execute a final act of self-destruction, attempting to annihilate its hunters along with itself. It is believed that a fully mature blue dragon can transfer its core — the source of its consciousness — through the lightning during this final strike. Although the destination of the core is unknown, eyewitness accounts and battle records suggest that the core contains sentience and can regenerate into a new, even more powerful blue dragon, seeking vengeance.
Over the years, the only successful capture of a blue dragon has revealed that these creatures possess extraordinary physical quality, speed, and destructive potential. Even decapitation cannot guarantee a blue dragon’s demise, as it can regenerate or repair its body through lightning. The most effective means of containment is to separate and seal its core and soul.
